Introduction

Hey, I'm Popful Advantage, or at least, that's what I go by at the moment, and this is my blog. :D This is just a recreational way for me to express my thoughts on stuff (primarily video games) . I'm not trying to be super objectively about the things I discuss, so I would advise against taking my posts as such. I am to an extent trying to improve my writing skills through some of these blogs (to make up for years and years of not very educational middle and high school English classes) , but that's not really a main priority of mine. I'm a big fan of video games, primarily 2D platformers (examples include: Sonic The Hedgehog , Kirby's Return To Dreamland , and Pizza Tower ), fighting games (ex: BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle , Sonic Boom And The Smash Crew , and Kill La Kill IF ), and I like the Bomberman series (I don't know what genre Bomberman fits into, but even if I did, I haven't played enough games like the Bomberman to say I like the genre "in ...

KartKrew.org Initial Experience For those of you who don't know, this is a sequel to another Sonic fangame/mod, Sonic Robo Blast 2 Kart. Even though it seemed like a solid game, I never got into SRB2K because it just didn't seemed particularly derivative of Mario Kart gameplay wise. As far as I can tell, the main appeal of that game was its wide array of mods, but even that just never happened to get me very interested. (Side note: There doesn't appear to be a much discussion online about what makes SRB2K good.)

"Obscure Fighting Games" Dream

Image
This dream simply involved watching a YouTube video from JMCrofts . It was about "obscure fighting games", although I didn't realize until after the dream that the throughline was them all being GBA titles (and the fact that none of them were really fighting games) . In retrospect, the topic moreso fits a Stop Skeletons From Fighting video, although the video was still very much felt like a JMCrofts video.

2024 Retrospect

Image
Note: My opinions are subject to change, but I'm not gonna bother updating this tier list. Going into this year, I figured AntonBlast would be my game of the year when only counting new releases, and I wasn't really sure what to expect beyond that. Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle was pretty locked in as my overall favorite once I played it, it was such a particularly excellent experience, I could see myself calling it one of my favorite games of all-time. When it comes to new game releases though, Shadow Generations really appeared out of nowhere and swept the competition.

Tetris Forever

DigitalEclipse.com   I was disappointed with this collection. I expected going into it that there would be less variety in the games than the Atari 50 collection ( my post on that ) , but even the storytelling feels like a step down.

SummitSphere.com Wacky This game is just so wacky, through and through. There are so many silly things all throughout the game, like the scream button:

Steam I don't got a lot to say about this game, it's very small, but I played I think it's cool so I wanna make note of it anyways.
