This is one of those years in which I didn't have a lot to forward to while going into it. None of the things I listed last year even released this year (2XKO is in early access on PC though). There were quite few things that ended up wowing me though, nearly everything in the Lovely tier did.

I had kinda low expectations for Curse Crackers, I guessed it would just be a simple, perhaps mildly unique platformer. Now Curse Crackers is one of my favorite games ever, it stands in my heart amongst Sonic The Hedgehog and Rayman Origins as one of my favorite 2D platformers (my favorite genre), and Colorgrave is now one of my favorite game developers at the moment. I'm definitely keeping an eye out for Curse Chapter, and I've already checked out some of their other games as well.

I believe before my most favorite piece of literature was a Lucky Star fanfiction (I do not currently plan to share what fanfiction that was), and while still not much time has passed since my November Media Post, I more confidently think Z.A.T.O. is my new favorite right now. I might even be my outright favorite story in any piece of media.

As of posting this Amphibia, The Owl House, Sonic Rush, Chibiverse, Five Nights At Freddy's, and The Ghost And Molly McGee haven't been featured in any of my posts yet. They're compiled into posts with games and shows I haven't watched/played yet. I figured they're all worth including in this tier list though since my opinions on them would be less fresh if included in a later one. I actually did plan on cutting DuckTales (2017) from my Disney Channel post since that's the one thing in that post I still wanna watch more of before writing about it, but frankly I've been too lazy to bother writing the rest of the post, so there's barely anything to post at the moment. Here are some social media posts about my thoughts on Amphibia and The Owl House, since I found both of them remarkable.

I forget but MultiVersus was once again a huge part of my year. It unfortunately never got to become something I loved through and through, but I look back on it with a lot of fondness. Since then, My Hero Ultra Rumble has become my goto online game. I've been loving it's gameplay plenty, but it's live service practices are a lot rougher than MultiVersus by quite a bit, making it even harder to recommend. I'd been waiting a while to come across just the right Battle Royale for me, since while it's a genre I think I'm quite receptive to, I never had any Battle Royales that I loved to their core. By proxy I've ended up thinking about My Hero Academia as a series a lot, but I wouldn't call it a particular favorite of mine. I consider the MHA movies and OVA's lumped into the same placement on the tier list as the show. Just to pick a particular favorite movie, I'll go with Two Heroes. I've also continued to think a lot about My Hero Academia All's Justice, I'm definitely eating into its hype.

The very have their cake and eat it two release of 2XKO's Early Access has kinda deflated my excitement for the game. I think I'll still like it once I can finally get my hands on it, but I'm more hyped for All's Justice at the moment. It definitely doesn't help that discussion around the game has soured at this point.

Another game I'm looking forward to is Bubsy 4D. I played the demo for it, and it shows a lot of promise. I figured Demon Tides was worth looking into as well (since it's another upcoming platformer from the same developer), and it similarly seems like it'll be great, but I'm usually biased towards Bubsy. Also from what I've tried, Bubsy 4D seems more linear in its structure compared to Demon Tides, which I prefer. I've been playing through Demon Turf as I wait for those games, although I haven't been super motivated to finish it.

The Demon Bluff playtest being in the Lovely tier gives me high hopes for its proper release. If I didn't like it so much, the playtest wouldn't even be on this tier list, or my August Media Post.

My favorite song from this year was "Magic" by Ado, but I've been listening to "Shoka" (which is from a previous year) the most.

I think grouping things into monthly posts has worked well so far. Setting monthly deadlines has helped me finish posts in a timely fashion, the only posts I'd say have taken too long to release are ones not tied to any month. The Disney Channel post ended up being the only one I'm disappointed in not finishing. I've had fun making thumbnails for the monthly posts, slapping together a bunch of PNG's is fun; I especially like the thumbnail for the September Media Post. The main issue I've had with the monthly posts is that I've yet to figure out a subheader format that I like, so every section in them is just broken up by game. For some games like Curse Crackers which I had relatively a lot to say about, I think subheaders would've helped make the formatting look nicer. Perhaps I'll go back and add some. I also considered just splitting more games into their own posts, but I ain't retroactively doing that.
