Bubsy Paws On Fire!

There's 4 playable characters in this game, Bubsy, Vergil, Woolie, and Arnold, and my favorite to play as was Bubsy. I don't really know what else to say about this game's gameplay honestly. It just kinda happened and I didn't absorb very much of it.
I remember particularly not liking the Arnold stages to the point where I didn't bother collecting the crystals in them. I collected everything in everyone's else's levels though.
I don't know what's up with Vergil in this game, I feel like he's WAY weirder than before. It's especially weird how he literally doesn't speak at all in the opening cutscenes.
He just kinda stands there bug-eyed on the right.
I don't really get why Bubsy has golden shoes in this game. I understand within the game itself, his niece and nephew just kinda give it to him, but like, I'd expect that him getting golden sneakers would be important in some way, but it just isn't as far as I know. (Update: Someone pointed out to me that the golden sneakers are reason why Bubsy goes on fire, which to be fair is in the game's title, so I guess they do hold some importance.)
I'm pretty surprised that one of the playable characters is straight up just called Woolie. Maybe that really is their name and they really are just named after their own species, maybe as a joke(?), or maybe I'm reading too hard into it.
I'll give the devs credit on this, I think Paws On Fire has the funniest one-liners out of any Bubsy game.
Lastly, I noticed what I'm pretty sure is an Axiom Verge reference, and something about it just feels especially random to me.
