Sonic The Hedgehog 2 (Movie)

This was a decent movie. It probably isn't gonna leave as much of an impact on me as the first movie, but that's not really its fault. The first movie was only able to pleasantly surprise me so much because of my horribly low expectations for it.
Regardless, I thought this movie felt a little bloated, or maybe just unfocused. The wedding scenes which I've heard are very polarizing for people is a pretty good example of this. The main plot gets sidetracked with a mini rescue plot that ultimately amounts to little to nothing because despite getting sidetracked, Sonic catches up with Knuckles and Robotnik anyways.
When it comes to the characters, I enjoyed Robotnik and Agent Stone a little more compared to the original movie. As for the other returning characters, I'm indifferent towards most of them since most of them get very little screentime, and I guess I like Sonic just as much as before, which is to say I think he's alright. I thought Knuckles was somewhat cool, and I thought the movie did a pretty good job at framing his alliance with Robotnik as pretty reasonable from his perspective.
My biggest issue with the movie is probably just how shoehorned in Tails feels. It was especially weird how Sonic insisted on taking Tails along despite Tails barely having introduced himself yet. And then his backstory ends up being that he's just some random guy from another planet that's just been spying on Sonic for months. I thought that was a pretty weird explanation for why he knows Sonic. Ignoring his introduction though, I thought Tails was alright.
Now time will tell how long it takes for me to watch the 3rd Sonic movie after it releases. (I don't know if I'll bother watching the Knuckles show at all.)
