Bubsy The Woolies Strike Back

While I think this is an okay game, I think it really suffers from a lack of ideas. For better or for worse, most of what it has to offer is laid out by the very start, leaving the rest spread out very thinly across a majority of the game.

Bubsy's movement feels very nice and snappy, but the game has very few interesting uses for the stuff Bubsy can do.

I wasn't a huge fan of the pounce attack. It's upward arc that goes over a ton of enemies, combined with just how committal it is makes it very unwieldy.

I think the devs captured Bubsy's personally pretty well, although he doesn't have a lot of things to talk about.

I found the end of stage results to be really odd. The only thing shown on it that the game actually keeps track of and remembers is your score. Everything else on it is either completely irrelevant, or is tangentially related to something else in the game.

The lives counter specfically is really odd to me due to how rather than tracking whether or not you've beaten levels with maxed out lives, instead the game tracks 2 separate missions in every level that happen to be complete-able by finishing stages with maxed out lives.

Out of curiosity, I decided to complete every stage with maxed out wool and lives counts, just to see what it's like. And it kinda sucks because one mistake could send you restarting a level 8 minutes in. I guess that's why the game never directly insensitivities you to do it though.
