Hoodwinked 1 & 2

I decided to rewatch both Hoodwinked movies. The first one is about as good as I remember, while the second one is actually better than I remember.
Due to the simple premise and multiple perspective nature of the first film, I found it to be pretty fast paced, which I really enjoyed. I found the writing to be fairly charming and funny, although I had a couple problems with it from a story perspective. Some of these are pretty minor, but they mildly bugged me anyway.
- Twitchy not being questioned by the police was odd considering I'm pretty sure he was in the house with the four characters that were.
- No one's suspicious of how Red just didn't mention kicking The Wolf's ass at sone point.
- The Red sadly moping around scene didn't feel earned because I felt they did a poor job at communicating Red's troubled feelings.
- The Wolf and The Woodsman's involvement in the climax felt really lackluster since they don't really accomplish anything noteworthy.
With that said however, I still found them to be somewhat amusing in the climax, so I guess they weren't entirely wasted.
I guess I should also note the animation. It's pretty dated, but because of nostalgia, or because I'm just really lenient, I don't really mind it.
Now for the second movie, while I said it was better than I remember, I still wouldn't call it particularly good.
I'd say the main problem with Hoodwinked Too is that the story just feels poorly executed.
The part where they're just trying to look for clues on where the Witch is located is probably best example of what I mean. They don't really forward the plot in that section until the Witch just shows up and drops a clue for them.
They do at least try to forward Red and Wolf's character arcs, but thier arcs also felt poorly executed.
I'd say they improved the visuals compared to the first movie. Hoodwinked Too still looks dated, but much less so than the original.
Lastly, some of the action was surprisingly decent. Most of it was pretty unremarkable, but I liked the stuff with Red. They made really stretchy, which added a lot of fluidity to her movement.
I think they actually did the same thing in the first movie, but Red didn't get to do as much so it was less prominent.
