Publisher Dream

Strangely, this game's moreso about game development, rather than game publishing.

This is a DSi/3DS game that I struggled to get very far in at all when I was younger. Going back to it, I definitely see why I struggled so much, since it doesn't really explain its mechanics very well, and you can screw yourself over really hard while experimenting with stuff. I imagine the game would be a lot less brutal if it was possible to sell your furniture and fire your employees, but since you can't, you're just stuck with your poor investments permanently.

There's a points system in the game which I imagine is intended to add replay value, but I found its implementation to be really odd and not very engaging.

The 9 year time limit makes sense considering the points system, but it still gives the game a rather abrupt and underwhelming end, especially since there's not even a final results screen.

My final score was around 1100 I think.

Because I wasn't very engaged by the points system, I wasn't engaged with the gameplay very much in general. I guess there's some achievements I could aim for, but those didn't really entice me either.

At least I thought the music and visuals were pretty cute though.
